Petr Cech

Reports reaching us at 411 football this morning is that Liverpool are being encouraged to bid for Petr Cech – by the keeper’s agent.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has already revealed he has had no offers for his former No.1, now on the bench at Stamford Bridge.

But Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar is urging Liverpool and Arsenal to make an offer that Chelsea cannot refuse.

Kolar also claimed Cech is set to leave next summer and has already been offered to Real Madrid.

Kolar said: “It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title. I think Arsenal should have made an offer to him. I think Petr would be considering it.

“Liverpool need to strengthen their position in goal and they know Petr will be available in the summer.

Statistics by UK mirror shows that Liverpool are having major problems in the goal keeping department as Mignolet's goal per game ratio is not too impressing compared to the Chelsea underdog.

“We’ve been in contact with Real Madrid, but they don’t need a keeper just now.”

Cech, 32, whose contract runs to 2016, was Chelsea’s first choice for a decade until his place was taken by Thibaut Courtois.

Belgian ace Courtois starred on loan at Atletico Madrid and was unlikely to sign a new deal with the Blues unless he was given first-team football.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has dropped keeper Simon Mignolet after some unconvincing displays.
